way of acknowledging and expressing religious and spiritual beliefs as well as a
means of personal adornment. Precious stones and amulets were believed to have powerful
properties which could cause physical and mental changes, to the people wearing
them.
Ancient Egyptian jewellery was believed to bring good health and good luck, to
protect the wearer, and was regarded as an expression of spirituality.
