~ Ancient Egyptian faience Hathor (?) amulet around 600BC ~
The faience amulet has protruding ears, and appears to be the ancient Egyptian cow-headed god, Hathor. The amulet has some glaze loss but still shows remnants of the original turquoise blue colour.
The amulet is strung on stainless steel jeweller's wire with 5,000 year old Steatite beads from Judea, modern blue Jasper, African Turquoise, and Garnet beads. It is finished with solid sterling silver fittings. The necklace measures 41.5 cms (16.3 inches) in length, the ancient amulet is approx. 2 cm. (3/4 inch) long. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
