~ GENUINE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN, LATE PERIOD FAIENCE MELON BEAD ~
The centrepiece of this necklace is a genuinely ancient Egyptian, late period, faience melon bead c 600 BCE.
The pale turquoise coloured glaze is largely intact, it has no visible cracks or chips, and in reality looks much better than it does in the photographs.
The ancient melon bead has been restrung on this very wearable necklace, together with modern Aquamarine, Unakite, and African Turquoise beads.
The necklace measures approx. 46.3 cms ( 18 1/4") in length. The ancient faience bead is approx. 1.3 cm x 1.5 cms (1/2" x 5/8") .
It is strung on stainless steel jewellers wire for durability, and has solid sterling silver fittings.
