~ LATE PERIOD, ANCIENT EGYPTIAN, SMOOTH FAIENCE BEAD - BRACELET ~

A genuine, ancient Egyptian, smooth pale blue faience bead. Blue was a colour often used by the ancient Egyptians,

and was symbolic for the fertile waters of Nun (creation), and the Nile.

The late period bead dates from c 500 BCE, and has been restrung on a wearable bracelet,

with 5,000 year old white Steatite beads from Syria, and modern Rhodonite and Amazonite beads.

The ancient faience bead is in good condition, with a little age related glaze wear,

but has retained much of it's original colouring. It has no visible cracks or chips.

The bracelet measures approximately 25 cms. (9 13/16") in length,

and the faience bead measures approximately 7mms. (1/4") x 14 mms (1/2").

For durability, the beads are strung on stainless steel jeweller's wire, with solid sterling silver fittings.
