Long necklace with genuine Egyptian replica ushabti.

This gemstone necklace has a genuine vintage (not ancient), Egyptian faience ushabti, with turquoise coloured glaze. The ushabti amulet is strung on stainless jeweller's wire with Turquoise and scarab beads, Garnet, red Aventurine and complementing glass beads.

Ushabtis were figures that represented people to accompany the deceased into the afterlife. They mostly took the form of the mummified god of rebirth and resurrection, Ausar (Osiris). Ushabtis were usually free standing statues, sometimes painted, and often inscribed with hieroglyphs. They were also made into amulets and strung onto jewellery.

The necklace measures 73 cms in length, and is finished with solid sterling silver fittings. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
