Necklace with a genuine Ancient Egyptian Hyksos scarab amulet and ancient beads.

Scarabs, and scaraboid amulets, were probably the most popular and enduring of all the talismans prized by the ancient Egyptians.

The steatite scarab amulet on this necklace is dated around 1100 B.C. It is a carved fish design, with a typical Hyksos pattern on the reverse. The scarab is strung on stainless steel jeweller's wire with 5,000 year old grey and white Steatite beads found in Syria, and new red Jasper, and Lapis Lazuli tube beads.

The necklace measures 44.5 cms in length, and has solid sterling silver fittings. The ancient Egyptian scarab amulet measures 12 x 9 mm. This unique piece of jewellery would be equally suitable for a man or a woman. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
