Necklace with an authentic, Ancient Egyptian, turquoise faience bead.

Ancient Egyptian inspired necklace of African Turquoise, pink Rhodonite, and an authentic Ancient Egyptian, round faience bead, dated from around 300 B.C.

The making of faience was a specialised trade, which was highly regarded in Ancient Egypt. Faience was used to produce beads, amulets, and other sacred items, works of art and household objects. The bead on this necklace is in good condition, with much of the turquoise green coloured glaze intact, and with no cracks or chips.

The beads are strung on stainless steel jeweller’s wire for durability, with solid sterling silver fittings. The necklace measures 42.5 cms, and could be worn by a man or woman. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
