Bracelet with ancient faience, and Steatite beads.

This large bracelet combines 5,000 year old Steatite beads from Syria, and an Ancient Egyptian faience bead dated from about 300 B.C. The bracelet also has modern red Jasper and Onyx beads. It is strung with stainless steel jeweller’s wire and is finished with solid sterling silver fittings.

Steatite was commonly used for bead and amulet manufacture in the ancient world, it came in many colours, and was frequently dyed and painted. Faience was also produced in a variety of colours, each hue having a symbolic significance to the Ancient Egyptians.

The bracelet measures 25.8 cms, and would be equally suitable for a man and a woman. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
