~ Ancient Egyptian faience scarab amulet around 200BC ~
A geniune ancient Egyptian scarab amulet, which has lost much of its glaze, but still retains its original hieroglyphs on the reverse. Late period, from around 200 BC.
The scarab, which measures approx. 1.3 cms. (1/2 inch) in length, is restrung on a necklace 42 cms (16.5 inches) in length. The necklace also has 5,000 year old grey and white Steatite beads from Syria, modern red Jasper, and Unakite beads. It is strung on stainless steel jeweller's wire with solid sterling silver fittings. Insured postage and gift wrapping are included in the price.
